Honeywell FM&T, a government-owned engineering design and electronic manufacturing service provider located in Kansas City, was experiencing a significant data integrity issue. Their information was being stored in multiple databases, and there was no single point of entry to view or update data. Users were manually exporting data from different systems into Excel and merging that data manually. The continued repetition of these steps was causing inefficiencies and raising concerns regarding overall data integrity.
Level Five met with Honeywell's key users and subject matter experts to begin an in-depth analysis of how they utilized their data. Due to our ability to identify integration points, we were able to determine the data feeds necessary and the most efficient way to pull that data together into one system. Our goal was to provide effective automated workflow and eliminate the duplication of data while creating the best user experience possible.
We created a Java-based web application to pull divergent data sets from various systems and store the technology information from the provider's sourcing plan. Combining this data into one database allowed teams to compile information by part number based on specific user-based criteria. This meant that the data they had available could be utilized to create a detailed project plan that supported the milestones in their sourcing plan.
Our approach increased efficiency, provided a better user experience and enabled real-time data feeds.
"Level Five was able to provide enterprise-level development expertise as well as experience managing multiple, complex data systems."
